Brookline Residents
Brookline is home to what many consider the nicest sand volleyball courts in New England! At the picturesque town baseball park located next to the playground, our three sand courts are available for your use at no charge any time a court is not being used for a scheduled activity (schedule will be on home page). There are typically volleyballs available for use in the container next to the entrance from the playground but bring your own just in case.
If you're curious about our scheduled activities (full list on the home page), we have over 100 scheduled sessions of volleyball leagues, training, tournaments and drop-in play each season. If you or your child are experienced/trained players, go to the home page to see our full schedule. If you / your child are not trained, here are the best options:
ADULTS
My Social Sports adult six-on-six league starting May 7th. This is a weekly evening league that runs for 8 weeks during a spring and summer session. Wednesday evenings. You can sign up as a "free agent" or as a team. Most people sign up as free agents and are assigned / formed into teams. NO TRAINING OR SKILLS ARE NECESSARY. If enough teams sign up, they will be split into two skill levels. Details and registration are available here.
Brand new this year, a training class just for adults with no background in volleyball. Learn the basics in a safe space with others also with no experience. Likely Monday or Thursday nights for four weeks.
YOUTH AGED 6 TO 11: We hope to run one or more series of six sessions designed to introduce youth to the game of volleyball. The nets are dropped to a very low height so the kids can experience success. Not finalized, but the sessions will likely be 75 minutes once or twice a week for six sessions. The focus is on having fun and keeping the cost low. For this to run, we need to have sufficient interest - please register your interest, so we can reach out when we have details. Send an email to SNHsandvolleyball@gmail.com. Include names and ages of your children and your name.
JUNIORS IN 5TH THROUGH 12TH GRADE (and beyond)
Sand Camp: Our most popular juniors activity, the New Hampshire Volleyball Club runs a six-week summer camp from June 16th to July 24th. There are middle school and high school sessions for two hours each Monday and Thursday morning or early afternoon. This is designed for newbies and experienced players alike (split onto different courts). More details and sign-ups will be available at www.newhampshirevolleyball.com by March.
The Ladders girls and co-ed doubles league: Known as the Ladders since teams move up and down the ladder depending on how they do each week, players quickly find the right level of competition. There is a clinic prior to Week 1 to give players an opportunity for some learning prior to the competition. This year, we are hoping to have a rung on the ladder for players new to volleyball, where some training will be mixed in with playing each week. This new rung with training depends on having enough new players to form a few teams. The girls' league will run on seven or eight Sunday afternoon/evenings starting in early May. The co-ed league runs on seven or eight Friday afternoon/evenings starting in the first half of June. Signups will be open in February using the link in the upper right corner of this page.
