FACILITY GUIDELINES
Residents of Brookline and surrounding communities are welcome to use our facility during daylight hours.
For those that have been here before, just a few reminders...
Feel free to raise/lower and tighten the nets when you play. After play, it is critical that you loosen the nets so they have about a foot of sag, and re-Velcro the padding.
Please do not climb over the baseball home run fence when entering or exiting.
No alcohol or dogs (or alcoholic dogs😀) allowed at the park (except service animals).
Despite the tall net, baseballs can land in the sand, particularly from left-handed hitters. You are solely responsible for ensuring your safety.
Please leave the park cleaner than when you arrived.
Raking the sand from the edges back to the depression in the middle of each side of the court is always appreciated!
Park neighbors live only a couple hundred feet from the courts. Please be considerate of noise and music levels.
Town Request: Small groups are allowed to set up a grass net, but there should be a local Brookline member participating. The intent is to keep the grass use limited in order to preserve the grass for other town activities. Grass nets should never be set up inside the home-run fence or in left field of the far field.
For those that are new, here's what else you need to know....
We are located at the Brookline Ball Park at 3 Frances Drive.
Use of the courts are free for unreserved play. Check the calendar above to ensure no planned activity is using the sand courts.
Park in the parking lot or along the right side of Frances Drive adjacent to the park. Do not park on the cul-de-sac, or the left side of the street.
Bring your own ball. We try to have a couple balls available for use in the bin by the gated entrance, but there is no guarantee.
There is a bathroom that is open only during select events. There are well-maintained port-a-potties for other times.
There is a drinking fountain and a foot wash available.
In the unusual situation where all three courts are occupied with unreserved play, and another group is waiting, players should give up their court after an hour of play. They can jump back on once another group reaches their hour.
If you are looking to reserve the sand courts (i.e. guarantee access or for planned events), contact Len at SNHsandvolleyball@gmail.com or 781-454-6199. There will typically be a $20/hour/court fee.
Players and spectators assume the risks inherent in outdoor activities at a park. Baseballs can enter the sand courts from either of the two fields and players/spectators are solely responsible for monitoring that activity to ensure their own safety.
If you have any questions, text or call Len at 781-454-6199 (or email SNHsandvolleyball@gmail.com.)
